The skies above Akron Fulton International Airport come alive this weekend with Props and Pistons, a two-day aviation festival featuring aerial displays, aircraft exhibits, and activities for all ages. The festival includes veteran honor ceremonies, food trucks, a free kids zone with STEM displays, and community outreach.

The centerpiece is the "Flight of the Flags" ceremony, where families can honor fallen loved ones through a tribute involving pre-registered burial flags and a 21-gun salute. Free parking and shuttle service from 1210 Massillon Road.

The Akron Zoo hosts its first-ever summer craft show on Saturday, combining handmade goods with your regular zoo visit. Local artists and crafters set up booths throughout the zoo grounds, selling everything from jewelry and pottery to art prints and home goods.

The West Akron Community Market kicks off this weekend, and runs every Saturday through October 10. Held at Emmanuel Christian Academy, the market is organized by Rubber City Gardens as part of an effort to build lasting food infrastructure in the neighborhood. You'll find fresh local produce from area growers, handmade goods from local vendors, and a welcoming setup for families.

The market accepts SNAP, Ohio WIC, and Produce Perks, making fresh food accessible across income levels. On-site parking is available, and volunteer opportunities are open if you want to help out. Rain or shine, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday.
