Breeze Airways Brings the Jobs āœˆļø

Akron-Canton Airport just got a little busier! Breeze Airways is setting up a new crew base, adding 61 new jobs to the region. This move comes as part of the airline’s growing commitment to Ohio, with Governor Mike DeWine touting it as a win for local employment. The crew base means more flights, better service, and more opportunities for travelers in Northeast Ohio. Breeze has been rapidly expanding its routes, and this latest investment signals confidence in Akron-Canton as a key travel hub. Whether you're a frequent flyer or just looking for your next getaway, expect even smoother takeoffs ahead.

Akron Parks Challenge: Your Neighborhood’s $150K Transformation 🌳

Akron’s giving residents the power to shape their parks—again. The 2025 Akron Parks Challenge is officially open, offering two community groups the chance to snag $150,000 each for park upgrades.

Here’s the deal: If you’ve got a park in mind, all you need to do is register by March 22 with your name, email, and chosen park. From there, Akron Parks Collaborative (APC) will bring together all interested parties for a guided session to shape a joint application. Final proposals are due April 6.

The challenge, now in its sixth cycle, has pumped over $3.7M into Akron’s green spaces since 2018. The winning parks get funding, plus APC’s support in planning, budgeting, and keeping the space active after renovations. Mayor Shammas Malik calls it a ā€œcommunity-ledā€ approach to making Akron’s public spaces safer and more vibrant.

Ready to give your local park a facelift? Register at AkronParks.org before March 22.
